Smitty has been affected by the tragedy in Humboldt not only as someone who is passionate about hockey but as a father and a Canadian. As a way of trying to deal with the heartache he took to his guitar to pen an emotional expression as his way of letting go some of the heartbreak...the result of that is the song..
